IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems

Special Section on Parallel and Distributed Computing and Networking

The IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems announces a forthcoming Special Section on “Parallel and Distributed Computing and Networking” to be published in December, 2010. The objective of this special section is to publish and overview recent progress in the interdisciplinary area of Parallel and Distributed Computing and Networking. This special section will include papers based on the presentation at the 10th International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies (PDCAT 09) and papers applied for this call for papers. All submitted papers are subjected to the same review process as those papers accepted for publication in the regular issues.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to

  1. Algorithms and Applications (e.g., Parallel/distributed algorithms, Data mining and web mining algorithms, Image processing and computer graphics, and Bioinformatics),
  2. Hardware and Architectures (e.g., Parallel computing systems, Cluster computing, Grid computing systems, and Reconfigurable architecture),
  3. Distributed Systems and Networking (e.g., Interconnection and computer networks Ubiquitous computing systems, P2P networks, and Wireless networks and mobile computing),
  4. Software Systems and Technologies (e.g., Web services and Internet computing, Agent technologies, Distributed Operating systems, and Parallelizing compilers).

Guideline for paper submission

  • The recommended page length is 8 printed pages for a paper, and 2 printed pages for a letter. In preparing the manuscript, authors should be subjected to the Information for Authors on IEICE Transactions, which describes the standard format of papers. Information for Authors is available through WWW page http://www.ieice.org/eng/shiori/ .
  • Submit a paper using the IEICE Web site https://review.ieice.org/regist_e.aspx by January 29, 2010. The acceptable format of the file is PDF file. Authors should choose the ”[Special-ED] Parallel and Distributed Computing” as a “Type of Issue (Section)/ Transactions” on the online screen. Do not choose ”[Regular-ED] Information and Systems” or other special sections.
  • Send “Copyright Transfer and Page Charge Agreement” and “Confirmation Sheet of Manuscript Registration” to the following contact person by postal mail (NOT by FAX or E-mail) by February 2, 2010. Please do not forget to send “Copyright Transfer and Page Charge Agreement” and “Confirmation Sheet of Manuscript Registration”. We cannot start the review process without them, even if we receive the manuscript.
